Origin Story
In 2009, a farmers market crème brûlée stall in Marin sparked something unexpected. Rob was seeking a truly compostable solution — convinced that serving great food shouldn't come with an environmental cost. What he found was birchwood.
Customers kept asking about the spoons. Not the crème brûlée — the spoons. That is when Birchware was born.
Birchwood has always been there — the popsicle stick, the ice cream paddle, the chopstick. Birchware brings that same natural sustainable option to every table. Today, Rob and Katrina run Birchware from Sonoma, California — a family business built on the belief that great service and genuine care for the planet go hand in hand.
Because good food deserves better than plastic. And because convenience shouldn't cost the earth.
